Hello Dear Ballers,
I hope this note finds you all warm and cozy, under some antique carriage blankets (which I just brought in some beauties) and not out shoveling more snow.
This winter has been rough, but I have been finding solace in sourcing treasures for you all. I took a(nother) trip to the UK in January and managed to fill 5 suitcases with little paintings, odd little objects, tins, textiles and doo-dads. The flea markets and antique shows go year round there, and they are so darn good. I’m dreaming of my next trip…..Hurry in before all the fresh finds are gone. I’m not the only one that’s been shopping up a storm either, all the dealers have been bringing in all kinds of literal and figurative gems. Sally went to England, France and Italy to source. Shannon was just in Paris buying fancy trinkets. Jean is in Arizona shopping, and who knows wear everyone else is. Haha. Winter is a great time to hunt.
We are planning lots of stuff in the coming days, weeks and months here at B & C. I’ll do a quick run down here, but also check our website and events calendar for up to the minute activities.
This Friday the 13th, is Valentine's Day eve and we will be Happy Houring. There will be bubbles, bits and baubles from 5 - 8pm. Some of our jewelry dealers will be on hand with special jewels for the lovers holiday. Treat yourself or someone else to a new (old) piece of jewelry - we have items from $ - $$$$.
On February 28- March 1, Ball and Claw is heading to the big city. We are going to be showing at the inaugural Material Matters Home Show at 29 W. 23rd St, NY, NY. This is a show by the amazing Amy Abrams that has produced the best vintage clothing and jewelry shows around, including Artists and Fleas and Manhattan Vintage.
March 8, we will be set up at the Fuller Building in Midtown Kingston for WDST - Radio Woodstock’s, Women’s Symposium:Women Beyond Their Title.
The Ball and Claw 2nd Saturday Flea Market returns from May - October. We are looking for vintage and antique sellers, food vendors and more….Please send me a note for more information at Maria@ballandclawhv.com.
We will also be at the Rhinebeck Antiques Show on May 23 &24 and the Taconic Antiques Show September 26 & 27. And who knows where else we might pop up.
