Ball & Claw Newsletter #12
Yes, it’s mid April and I am just getting a moment to write the newsletter… it’s just been so busy. My retirement career has turned out to be multiple full time jobs. There’s the shopping, sourcing, researching, repairing, pricing, cleaning, displaying, packing, organizing, designing, shipping, decorating, selling, socializing and then so much driving, lifting, and talking. BUT I absolutely love it, and I know my trusted crew of dealers and shop-keeps do too. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do this. Your patronage lets us continue to do this fascinating work.
Here’s some news:
FLOWERS
We now have a flower shop within Ball and Claw. Selby and Corinne, of Atelier Marguerite have turned what was the coffee shop into the most beautiful jewel box of flowers and magic! It feels like the space was made just for this. They’ll be open Friday - Sunday from 10-6 for now, with more hours coming soon. Stay tuned.
HAPPY HOUR
B&C HH is back this Friday April 17 from 5 - 8pm. There will be bubbles, there will be snacks, there will be flowers, there will be laughter and of course, there will be antiques! Many of our dealers will be on hand to answer questions and probably give special deals…
FLEA MARKETS
Our 2nd Saturday Flea Market is starting on May 9. We are accepting vendors for this show now. If you are a dealer or just have a lot of cool antique/vintage items to sell you should join us. We are also looking for a DJ and a food truck/vendor to set up for shows. Spread the word. Apply on our website at www.ballandclawhv.com
ANTIQUE CRAWL
This Saturday, April 18, our friend Elizabeth Winslow of @oldthingsweekly are hosting a delightful day of antiquing, eating, and touring the areas best spots. They’ll kick off at Ball & Claw at 11am with a beautifully prepared brunch and bubbly (can you tell that we love our bubbles?), flower arranging, a private visit to Your Mom & the Swan vintage clothing shop for a style refresh with Erika DeVries, followed by a house tour of my favorite home Maple Lawn, owned by my dear friend and antique/design guru Ron Sharkey, and then finishing up at Milne Antiques with Rebekah and her team for happy hour snacks and design & color consultations. Sounds like a perfect day to me! Visit www.oldthings.co/antiquecrawl for tickets and more information.
COCKTAILS
At last, Stockade Tavern will be setting up in the yard for the summer. Their first day will be at our first Flea Market, May 9. More hours and details coming VERY soon. SO exciting!!!
ALSO,
We are actively looking for a small coffee truck/cart to live in our yard or circular driveway…
Lastly, here are the 2 off-premise shows that we have on the books for this year, Rhinebeck Antiques Show on May 23-24 and The Taconic Antiques Show on September 26-27. There may be others, but for now, that is all.
Thank you for signing up for and reading this newsletter. We love hearing from and seeing you. Stop in soon. Support a small, local, woman owned, LGBTQ friendly, environmentally conscious business.
Love,
Maria, Jason, Allison, Miranda and all the dealers at Ball & Claw
